4. Data collection on our website

Cookies
This website used so-called cookies on some web pages. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your terminal device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Cookies that are required to facilitate the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions that you have requested (e.g. shopping basket function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 section 1 lit. f GDPR. Website operators have a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of their services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies to analyse your surfing behaviour) are stored, these are dealt with separately in this privacy policy.

Server log files
The provider of the web pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

The basis for data processing is Art. 6 section 1 lit. f GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

5. Plugins and tools

Google Web Fonts

This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you call up a web page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. This enables Google to know that our website has been accessed via your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online web content. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 section 1 lit. f GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.

Further information regarding Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Google Maps
This site uses the map service Google Maps via an API. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
To use the functions of Google Maps, it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The provider of this site has no influence over this data transmission.

Google Maps is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online presence and to make it easy to find the locations we indicate on the website. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 section 1 lit. f GDPR.
More information on the handling of user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy/.

6. Our social media presences

We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. The specific social networks we use can be found below. Social networks such as Facebook, Google+, etc. can generally comprehensively analyse your user behaviour when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g. “Like” buttons or advertising banners).

Visiting our social media sites triggers numerous processing operations relevant to data protection.

Specifically:
If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. However, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, data collection takes place, for example, via cookies that are stored on your terminal device or by recording your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored.

This allows the display of interest-based advertising to you inside and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, interest-based advertising may be displayed on all devices that you are or have been logged into.

Please also note that we are not able to track all processing on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and data protection provisions of the respective social media portals.

Legal basis
Our social media presences are intended to ensure the broadest possible presence on the internet. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 section 1 lit. f GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be founded on different legal bases, which are to be stated by the operators of the social networks (e.g. consent within the meaning of Art. 6 section 1 lit. a GDPR).

Data controller and assertion of rights
If you visit one of our social media sites (e.g. Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. In principle, you can assert your rights (information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media portal (e.g. against Facebook).

Please note that, despite being jointly responsible with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence over the data processing operations of the social media portals. The scope of our influence is largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider.

Storage period
The data collected directly by us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems either as soon as the purpose for storing it no longer applies, you request us to delete it, you revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your terminal device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

We have no influence over the storage period of your data stored by the operators of the social networks for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social networks directly (e.g. in their privacy policy, see below).

Facebook

We have a Facebook profile. The provider is Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. Facebook has certification under the EU-US Privacy Shield.

We have entered into a joint processing agreement (Controller Addendum) with Facebook. This agreement sets out which data processing operations we or Facebook are responsible for when you visit our Facebook page. You can view this agreement via the following link: https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum.

You can adjust your advertising settings independently in your user account. To do so, click on the following link and log in:: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads.
